How to schedule an Appointment with Avery's Mobile Pet Salon?
Because our pet grooming service is highly personalized and we are booked solid year round we recommend booking at least 2 weeks in advance so that we may best accommodate your specific availability, desired service time or day of the week.
However, we are pretty nimble and aggressive about revising routes to get your fur-kid in the pet spa line. Special arrangements can be made if you need our services sooner.. Simply call to discuss your needs with us. We will do our best to accommodate your request as soon as possible.
In this day and age, I wish it were so simple to book online and schedule your fur-baby on a whim. However, we take it very seriously that you are asking us to help you with your family. It's a privilege and honor that we don’t take lightly.
Thus, to ensure we are delivering the best possible care, we require a short 5-10 minute phone chat with you to discuss your specific needs, your pet's health history, past issues with grooming or special preferences and desired style. After collecting your information, we will provide a customized quote prior to receiving an appointment date. No exceptions.
Until we connect, we recommend that you complete our online scheduling form and provide more information about your pet’s needs. We will look ahead at our schedule and identify some potential options for you and your fur-kid.
Avery's will finalize your appointment request and follow up within 24-48 hours after speaking with you. We apologize for the lag time, but because we are highly personalized, we must ensure each pet parent on the route is okay with the new arrival times, once our new friends are added to existing routes already set.
You will also receive an email notification with the suggested appointment time - the big day!
Prior to confirming, the pet parent must have spoken with our Welcome Team and paid a deposit before an appointment is officially confirmed and a salon is dispatched to your location.
We encourage you to join our free, Preferred Client Program, which offers priority booking to ensure that your pet maintains a regular spa appointment on a predictable schedule year round.
Most often, we will send an overview email with additional information about the service and include possible appointment options for when we will be in your area in order to accommodate your request as soon as possible.
Once you receive the email, feel free to reply and/or call us to discuss scheduling on that day or to request an alternate day that better fits your schedule. This is your family! When you book an appointment with Avery's you become a part of our family too.
Again, what we do is a very serious endeavor and we do not take it lightly. Each pet is individual so we never assume anything and respect your needs, your fur-kids needs and personality and modern lifestyle.
Having a brief phone chat ensures everyone is on the same page for the big day and we can provide you and your fur-kid with the best possible grooming experience.
What are the hours of operation?
Avery's is open for grooming by appointment Monday-Saturday from 8:30 am to 5 pm. We take our last appointment between 3:30-4:30 pm during the late fall and winter seasons.
During the spring and summer, we take our last appointment between 4:30-6:30 pm. We are able to accommodate your busy schedule and can arrive early in the morning before the rush, as early as 7:00-8:00 am, for a small expediency fee.
We make every effort to groom your pet when it best suits your schedule, but our appointments go very quickly and Saturday appointments fill up at lightning speed.
Remember— we are here to accommodate your busy lifestyle and to allow you to keep your fur-kid healthy and happy in the most convenient and stress-free way possible.
How much do you charge?
Our grooming sessions are comprehensive and usually last 1.5-2+ hours depending on your fur-kids needs.
Prices start anywhere from $80-$98 for all breeds (from small pugs to elaborate poodles or Newfoundlands). We don’t discriminate on the size and are equal opportunity love.
Pricing is competitive and based on what you would like to have done, your pet's breed, your pet's coat type, current condition, temperament, availability, and your location.
All quotes are provided by phone after speaking with you to get a sense of what you need. We treat every pet individually and do not provide price quotes via email.
Some of the highlights of our Full-Service and Deluxe Spa grooming packages with 20+ steps include:
- Mini Health assessment
- Avery's signature Hydro-Massage Spa Bath
- Hand blow and fluff drying
- Nail trim
- Paw pad trim
- Ear cleaning and/or plucking
- Sanitary trim
- Gland expression (as applicable)
- Haircut per your specifications (a hand scissored style is an upgrade)
- Thorough brush out and/or de-shedding treatment. We provide a 3- step de-shedding treatment
- Expert Hand Scissoring and Hand Stripping services are available upon request.
Do you charge a separate travel fee in addition to the grooming charges?
Our prices include a service fee for travel, but we do not nickel and dime our pet parents. There are never any hidden charges and we do not exceed any quotes provided. This is why our Welcome Team’s call is critical.
If additional handling or matted pet fees are required, we will make that known to you during the intro call. If we find later that you did not disclose the full story, we will not return to pamper your fur-kid unless you agree to the additional charges for the next session.
If you and your neighbors decide to groom your pets on the same day, we will split the travel costs between you, so everyone pays less.
What forms of payment does Avery's accept?
We accept payment by cash, check, Visa or Master Card (true credit cards, not debit cards). Checks can be made payable to Avery’s Pet Styling.
Payment is due when services are rendered. If you are not physically present after the grooming session to remit payment, you have the option of paying online at www.averyspetstyle.com.
How long would it take to groom my fur-kid?
Avery's offers a 20+ step system that promotes the health and wellness of your fur-kid.
Every pet is an individual and requires time to beautify as well to note any potential health issues. As a result, each spa treatment takes between one to two hours, depending on the size of your pet and the package you have selected.
We also do not push your pet but allow them to take the lead on what they will allow us to complete. As professional pet groomers, we complete every job thoroughly; but we want to ensure your pet feels as relaxed and pampered as possible.
The exception to the above would be for special events, where the process would be streamlined with an Express Spa Service to accommodate as many pets as possible.
Do we need access to water or electric supply?
No, our mobile pet grooming salons are self-sufficient, state of the art and completely self-contained.
Our hybrid, eco-friendly grooming salons are fully equipped with everything we need and so we do not need to hook up to your home or property for utilities.
The salon has heated water, a climate controlled interior, power generated by a 'greener' energy and high tech equipment to makeover your best pet.
How many pets can be groomed at once?
Avery's provides a 1:1 service with our Certified Stylists and your fur-kid during their scheduled appointment.
This enables us to provide your dog or cat with our undivided attention, making his or her grooming experience as pleasant as possible.
For families with multiple pets, we are able to take siblings together into the salon so they can keep each other company and enjoy the big day with their best friend.
MAY I JOIN YOU ONBOARD?/ AM I ALLOWED TO BE IN THE SALON DURING MY FUR-KIDS GROOMING?
Just like preschool, we have found the sessions go much smoother when pet parents are not present and your fur-kid is allowed to be a big boy or big girl, independent of their parent. Sometimes the pet parent’s anxiety makes the fur-kid more anxious than necessary.
We treat your fur-kid as if they were our own fur-baby. We are very transparent and have an open dialogue with our pet parents. Because of that, we do not need to involve you, but if there’s an issue, please know you will be the first to know with a swift call from the Stylist to your direct line!
